megakaryocyte

megakaryocyte
n.
a cell in the bone marrow that produces platelets. It is large (35–160 μm in diameter), with an irregular multilobed nucleus, and with Romanowsky stains its abundant cytoplasm appears pale blue with fine reddish granules.
